Quire

Quire is an open-source answer engine that lets you ask questions about your own documents in plain language and receive answers with citations linked directly to source lines. It runs entirely offline on your local machine using local language models, requiring no API keys, accounts, or cloud services.

The tool supports multiple language model backends including Ollama, llama.cpp, vLLM, OpenAI, and Anthropic, with vector storage options like SQLite and pgvector. It features an honest "not in your corpus" response when information cannot be sourced, ensuring answers are grounded in your actual documents.
