Orkas

Orkas is an open-source, local-first desktop AI workforce for macOS and Windows. A Commander turns one conversation into a plan, selects specialist agents, and coordinates their work through delivery. Built-in agents cover research, coding, content, data analysis, UI design, image and video production, office documents, and SEO workflows.

Conversations, workspace files, agent configuration, and model credentials are stored locally by default. When a task uses an external model provider, only the prompt and selected file content needed for that request are sent to the configured provider. Users can bring their own supported model credentials, install reusable skills, and connect supported tools without moving the whole workspace into a hosted dashboard.

The desktop application is MIT-licensed and available from the official GitHub repository. Orkas is designed for individuals and small teams that want one coordinated AI workspace while retaining control over their local project data and provider choices.
