FreeCal

FreeCal is a calorie and macro tracker for iPhone where every feature is in the free version. Food search with serving sizes, a barcode scanner, photo scan, quick add, favourites and recents, manual or adaptive calorie and macro targets, weight trend analysis, daily burn estimation, CSV export, dark mode and copying previous days are all included without a subscription.

The free version is ad-supported. Photo scan gives three free scans, then further scans are unlocked by watching an ad. If you would rather not see ads, the No Ads tier is $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year, or $99.99 for life, which is less than the monthly and yearly premium tiers of the main calorie apps. Paying removes ads and nothing else.

FreeCal launched on the App Store on 25 September 2026. It is iPhone only and available in the US. It is built by the same person who runs this directory.
