About Abipreppi
Abipreppi is a study app for Finnish upper secondary students preparing for the ylioppilaskirjoitukset, the national matriculation examination. It contains 662 tasks taken from real exams set between 2023 and 2026, across nine subjects: advanced and basic mathematics, English (advanced syllabus), physics, history, social studies, biology, psychology and the Finnish reading-comprehension test. Every task comes with the app's own worked explanation plus the examination board's description of a good answer, so students see not only the right answer but why it scores.
Tasks are served in short sets and resurfaced with spaced repetition, so weak areas come back until they stick. An exam simulation mode runs a paper under the real time limit, and a grade estimator maps a practice score onto the official grade thresholds for each exam session, giving students a realistic read on where they stand months before the real thing. Practice, mock exams and progress work without a network connection.
The app is free with ads, and every task, explanation and feature is included in the free version. A one-time purchase of 9.99 EUR removes ads, and nothing else is sold. Abipreppi launched on the App Store in September 2026 and is iPhone only; there is no Android version. The interface is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. It is an independent service built by the person who runs this directory, and it is not affiliated with the Matriculation Examination Board or Yle.
